Realtime Coiled Tubing Technology and Application

Abstract:

Realtime coiled tubing has become a big improvement for coiled tubing services as its capability to provide full real-time operating parameters for both downhole and surface includes and is not limited to GR/ CCL/ Temp/ Pressure/ Tension/ Torque/ PLT/ DTS…. With the real-time capability, companies can now use coiled tubing with full confidence in operational control, accuracy, and certainty and, therefore, achieve higher efficiency & success for operation. Some highlight applications are:

• Realtime perforation with accurate depth control and remove the need for depth correlation run.
• Realtime milling with precise downhole parameter monitoring/control to improve milling efficiency.
• Realtime downhole camera to inspect wellbore condition, avoid uncertainty of tubular and/or any object/tubular profile (ex. SSD valves, fishing objective, multi-lateral entry...)
• Realtime acid stimulation pumping which provides diagnostic of fluid injection profile for on-fly-decision-making
• And many more applications...

Speakers' Biography:

Mr. Nguyen Tran Thang has 16 years of experience in coiled tubing services, having worked extensively with both operators and service companies. Currently with Halliburton, Mr. Thang’s expertise spans a wide range of technical and operational challenges. The topic "Realtime Coiled Tubing Technology and Application" will explore advanced techniques and their practical benefits, highlighting the latest innovations and their impact on optimising coiled tubing operations.
