Abstract
The SPE Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS) is the most widely used and referenced reserves and resources classification system in world. An updated version of the PRMS was released in 2018. The Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS) is designed to provide consistency in estimating natural occurring petroleum quantities, evaluating projects to commercially extract and market derived products, and present results within a comprehensive classification framework. The presentation will outline the key features of the PRMS, compare it to other systems, and how PRMS is used within SE Asia and around the world.
Brief high-level comments will be provided on the latest PetroVietnam reserves and resources classification system, focusing on comparison with PRMS.
The SPE CO2 Storage Resources Management System (SRMS) was released in 2017 as a system to provide a consistent approach to estimate storable quantities of CO2 in the subsurface, evaluate development projects, and present results within a comprehensive classification framework.
Speaker Bio
Doug Peacock is a Technical Director with GaffneyCline, based in Singapore. He holds a B.Sc. in Geological Sciences from Leeds University, UK, and a M.Sc. in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College,London. He has 40 years’ experience in the oil industry in a variety of geoscience positions, including 20 years with GaffneyCline. He has experience in reserves & resources assessment, geological modelling, field development planning and exploration. He has also appeared as an expert witness in several court cases, often related to reserves and resources assessment.
